22/04/07 - THE LATEST FROM ABADDON...

Hello!

A few items of note for you. Firstly, I am extending the submissions deadline for the current reading period to the end of April. So that’s the 30th April. After this date we will be closed to submissions and any subs sent after the end of April will not be read.
Secondly, we are now closed to submissions for the Pax Britannia and Dreams of Inan series.

The reason for this is actually quite exciting news. Jonathan Green, creator of Pax Britannia, is taking over the reigns fully for the series for the time being to enthral us with more Ulysses Quicksilver adventures. Two new Quicksilver books are planned for 2008 so watch this space.

Also, where Dreams of Inan comes to an end with The Worm That Wasn’t, this December from Mike Maddox, a brand-new fantasy series will be launched in 2008 with Twilight of Kerberos: Shadowmage by Matthew Sprange. Fans of sword and sorcery will not be disappointed by this exciting new release. More news soon.

In other news, The Afterblight Chronicles: Kill or Cure is currently at press and should be hitting shops in a couple of weeks. This is an excellent addition to the Afterblight universe and is packed full of the usual irreverence you have come to expect from Abaddon.

Also, Rebecca Levene (author of The Afterblight Chronicles: Kill or Cure) and Jonathan Green (author of Pax Britannia: Unnatural History) will be at the Alt-Fiction event in Derby on the 28th of April. My good-self will also be in attendance. We will be launching Kill or Cure and Jonathan Green will be chatting about Pax Britannia and what’s on the horizon for Ulysses Quicksilver. Copies of Unnatural History and Kill or Cure will be available on the day for £5 each. We will also be selling copies of all the other available titles from Abaddon.

Details on the Alt-Fiction event can be found here:
http://www.derby.gov.uk/LeisureCulture/...

For submission guideless and World Bibles please e-mail authors@rebellion.co.uk or write to: Jonathan Oliver, Abaddon Books, Rebellion, The Studio, Brewer Street, Oxford, OX1 1QN, UK.

May 25, 2006: Hello all! Just a few things to keep you in the loop of what is happening here at Abaddon. At the moment I'm doing the final edits on the first four releases and these should be going to press very shortly. Meanwhile, our big bit of news publicity wise is that the Abaddon sampler, featuring a chapter from each of the first four novels, will be available free with issue 145 of SFX magazine, on sale early June in the UK. So look out for that. Also, London, York and Edinburgh Dungeons will be distributing our sampler to ticket holders over the next couple of months. So if you do visit one of those venues be sure to keep an eye out. Plans for 2007 continue to be made and I can announce that I have now commissioned the 2nd novel in the Pax Britannia series. This is being written by the very talented Al Ewing and currently has the working title: Vengeance for a Dead Caballero. Further details will be added to the website shortly. That's it for now. Keep checking back for more updates!

April 12, 2006: Welcome to Abaddon! Our first four titles have all now been delivered to me by our very talented authors and we shall soon be getting the books off to press. The first wave of releases takes place in August in the UK and September in the USA, so watch out for that. Meanwhile the publicity engine is starting to kick up a few gears and soon there will be some great Abaddon freebies doing the rounds.

In the UK, the Abaddon sampler, featuring a chapter from each of our first four titles, will be bagged up with issue 145 of SFX magazine, due to hit the shelves on the 7th June. The sampler will also be given out at the Bristol Expo (13-14th May, The Ramada Plaza Hotel) and I shall also be in attendance to wave the Abaddon flag. Those of you in the USA need not fear missing out because our very funky bookmarks are being dished out at WorldCon in San Francisco and Abaddon will be in attendance waving at San Diego Comicon in July. Lots more publicity is planned so watch this space for more news.

Meanwhile, planning for our 2007 titles is well underway with three books already commissioned and an exciting new series launching with Pax Britannia. So keep checking back here for news and more updates.
